Motus Collective is a cross-disciplinary project-based dance company, based on Kaurna yerta (Adelaide) and formed in 2019 by Zoe Gay and Felicity Boyd.

In October 2025, they will spend two weeks in residence with STRUT Dance – connecting with and strengthening ties between WA and SA-based emerging dance artists. This residency is presented in partnership with The Mill, as part of their STRUT Residency Program.

During this Practice Sharing, Motus Collective will expose key tools and ideas used to create their current work in development, Trifle. Throughout the session we will explore how text can be used to structure improvisation, alongside games and play as tools for generating creative material. We will experiment with physical and non-physical forms of connection, using the voice as a complementary element in movement based storytelling.

Together, we’ll blur the lines between the performative and authentic self, investigating the space between heightened reality and lived experience. At the heart of the sharing is a focus on using the body as a vessel for connection, and discovering how movement and performance can tell personal, relatable stories that resonate with others.
