10 Duets on a Theme of Rescue - Crystal Pite

Presented with Perth Festival

In the State Theatre Centre Courtyard, ten dancers moved through fleeting encounters of danger, care and connection. Bodies appeared and disappeared within the darkness, shifting between the roles of rescuer and rescued.

Created by internationally acclaimed Canadian choreographer Crystal Pite, 10 Duets on a Theme of Rescue is a series of intimate duets reflecting on vulnerability and the human impulse to reach for one another. Staged with an exceptional cast of independent artists from Australia and Aotearoa/New Zealand, the work was performed twice nightly as the centrepiece of the inaugural Perth Moves.
