Holly Finch
Holly is a movement artist hailing from Taupō, currently based in Tāmaki Makaurau.
She trained professionally at Ettingshausens Pro (Sydney, 2014) and the Broadway Dance Centre (New York, 2016), as a scholarship recipient. She is a diverse artist, with professional experience in both the contemporary and commercial dance industries. Her practice draws from a range of dance styles including contemporary, modern and street dance, and she finds inspiration in how these can intersect.
Her choreographic credits include Tempo Dance Festival (2019, 20 and 22), Taking Dance to the People by Dance Aotearoa NZ (2020), and Tūrama Choreographic Residency (2021). Holly has worked with Aotearoa artists/ companies Momentum Productions, Dance Plant Collective, Hannah Tasker-Poland/projectMUSE and Kit Reilly. Some of her commercial dance credits include Lorde music videos ‘Solar Power’ and ‘Mood Ring’ and TV shows ‘Dancing with the Stars’ and ‘Shortland Street’. Holly believes in the ability art has to connect us to our humanity… above all, this is what drives her to dance and create.
