Luther Wilson

Luther Wilson is contemporary dancer and theatre performer based in Australia. Beginning his dance and theatre training in Darwin, and later moving to Perth to study, his practice has developed from a background in theatre, contemporary dance, breaking, and circus. Since moving to Perth in 2018, he has performed in works by prominent choreographers during his training, including Cass Mortimer Eipper’s Black Gold, Graeme Watson’s Bodyline, and Didier Theron’s Shanghai Bolero. He has since performed as a dancer in Raewyn Hill’s Archives of Humanity with Co3 Contemporary Dance, and in STRUT Dance’s Situ-8 in 2021.

Recently he has performed in Kimberley Parkin’s Killjoy, in both 2022 as part of STRUT Dance’s Groundworks season, and most recently in 2023 in Co3’s IN:HOUSE season. Also in 2023, as a part of the Perth Festival, Luther engaged in STRUT Dance’s partnership with renowned choreographer Crystal Pite, as a performer in Pite’s Ten Duets on a Theme of Rescue. He has also recently worked on the theatre stage, performing in the lead role in Browns Mart Theatre’s 2022 stage production of The Messenger, continuing his interest in theatre, dance, and the creative possibilities that arise from their collision.
