Mubanga, a versatile artist from Zambia, now based in Perth, Australia, is renowned for his contributions to the African culture in Australia. Specialising in ‘Afro-fusion,’ a unique blend of African dance styles, he incorporates traditional, cultural, and contemporary elements from various African regions. Since 2016, Mubanga has been a prominent figure in the African Australian dance scene, teaching locally and internationally, with classes in cities like Sydney, Melbourne, Darwin, Brisbane, and Adelaide, as well as overseas in Singapore, Zambia, Indonesia, New Zealand, and more. As a leader, he has successfully managed projects, including the popular annual event, Alkebulan, at the State Theatre in Perth. Mubanga also operates a dance studio in Perth, hosting weekly classes.
