Russell Thorpe

Russell Thorpe is an artist, dancer, educator, choreographer and emerging director based in Perth, Western Australia. In 2013 Russell graduated from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) with a Bachelor of Performing Arts.

After graduating Russell became a founding member of Co3 (The Contemporary Dance Company of Western Australia) and performed and toured Australia working with renowned choreographers such as Gavin Webber, Larissa McGowan, Antony Hamilton, Garry Stewart, Kate Harmon and Raewyn Hill. Russell has also worked as an independent artist with Barking Gecko Theater, Buzz Dance Theater, STRUT Dance, Lewis Major Projects, Mitch Harvey Company, Annette Carmichael Projects and a restaging of Hofesh Shechter’s Uprising tHE bAD for the Perth International Arts Festival. Russell was also nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Male Dancer in the 2017 Australian Dance Awards.
