2025

Laura Boynes
The STRUT and Co3 Fellowship supported one mid-career artist with a $70,000 grant to deep dive into contemporary dance practice. Laura Boynes was awarded the fellowship in 2023 and, in late 2025, shared a development of her work SUBTEXT in collaboration with a mixed abilities cast.
Kimberley Parkin
'The Genesis Project' by Parkin Projects explored monstrous female archetypes within patriarchal narratives. STRUT supported choreographer Kimberley Parkin with a two-week Space Grant to develop and show the work.
Make-Shift Evenings
Make-Shift Evenings offered a bi-monthly open platform for improvised performance and audience feedback. Across five sessions, STRUT supported the program with studio time and documentation, creating space for artists to test ideas, share practice and gather responses in the room.
Short Makes
Presented in partnership with Make-Shift, was a showing of five distinct ten-minute performances that prioritised experimentation, creative risk-taking and improvisation. Mentored by Alice Cummins, the cohort included Jo Cooper, Montserrat Heras, Sophie Molony, Matthew Morris, and Jo White. At the conclusion of the evening, audiences were invited into discussion with the artists about the ideas, questions and processes behind their performances.
Motus Collective
'TRIFLE' was developed through The Mill Residency, presented in partnership with The Mill Adelaide. The two-week residency supported the collective to develop the work alongside a practice sharing, classes and a public showing of the work in development.
Enneagon Movement
'Pilot' supported five emerging choreographic teams to develop and share new work in a programmed showing, and also supported artists to gather documentation and marketing collateral for future use. Artists included Jessica Pettitt & Nathan Turtur, Harrison Cook, Lillany Weber & Emma Crawford, 3voOrg, and Montserrat Heras.
Karlia & Danni Cook
'two thread', presented in partnership with The Blue Room Theatre, supported emerging choreographers Karlia Cook and Danni Cook in the development and performance of their work. The production went on to receive Performing Arts WA Awards for Best Independent Production and Outstanding Duet.

2024

Enneagon Movement
'PILOT', presented by Enneagon Movement with support from STRUT, provided four emerging choreographic teams with the opportunity to develop and share their work in a programmed showing at King Street Arts Centre. The sold-out program supported artists to gather documentation and marketing collateral for future opportunities. Artists included Jo Omodei, Dior Maddalena & Jessica Pettitt, Estelle Brown, and Minni Karamfiles & Giorgia Schijf
Make-Shift Evenings
Led by Lara Dorling and supported by STRUT, Make-Shift Evenings continued in 2024 as a bi-monthly open platform for community gathering, experimentation, improvisation, performance practice and conversation. Taking place in a low-pressure environment at King Street Arts Centre, the program supported artists and audiences to connect through live performance, with 224 participants across the year.
Georgia van Gils
'Meteor-i-bite' by Georgia Van Gils was a site-specific performance exploring the mythos of the Mundrabilla Meteorite at WA Museum Boola Bardip. Directed by Georgia as part of her STRUT Dance and Co3 Fellowship, the work centred the meteorite as an iconic state object and explored angry celestial spirits, earthly and universal elements, and renewed connections to natural phenomena. The performance featured Kimberley Parkin, with live composition by Cameron Park.
Patrick Gunasekera
'Mobility Aid-Using Dance Jams' by Patrick Gunasekera was supported by STRUT as a free, weekly two-hour dance class for mobility aid-using performers and dance enthusiasts. Without the pressure of a public outcome, the program created an accessible space for participants to develop individual dance languages, movement skills and connection through a regular community-focused practice.
Leah Robyn
'Did You Get My Letter?' by Leah Robyn was developed with support from STRUT, offering Leah time and space to build a new dance work at the intersection of text and movement. Using letters written by her community as a starting point, Leah led a group of dancers to devise material that explored the complexities of the human condition and how personal writing could become shared performance.

2023

May Greenberg & Zee Zunnur
'CEASE/FIRE' by May Greenberg and Zee Zunnur was supported by STRUT through studio space. Commissioned by Fremantle Biennale for SIGNALS 23, the site-responsive work sharpened focus on the themes of war, grief, resistance and consequence, bringing together choreography, sound, costume and dramaturgy inside the cavernous surrounds of C Shed in Fremantle.
Make-Shift Evenings
Lara Dorling was supported by STRUT through in-kind administration, studio hire and technical support. Designed as a low-pressure environment for artists and audiences to come together, the pilot season invited artists to test new ideas, take risks through experimental and exploratory performance, and connect with audiences through sharing and conversation at King Street Arts Centre.
