Jo White

Jo White is a performer and teacher who has recently relocated to Perth after 20 years living and working in Melbourne.

Originally trained in classical ballet, Jo danced with the Hamburg Ballet for four years, performing in all major productions and touring extensively with the company.  In 2001, she completed further training in contemporary dance at the Victorian College of the Arts and has since been involved in numerous artistic collaborations with choreographers in Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide and Tokyo. Between 2002 and 2014 Jo danced with Phillip Adams BalletLab, touring nationally and internationally with the group.  Most recently she has worked and performed in Melbourne with Shelley Lasica, Alice Will Caroline, Phillip Adams, Jude Walton and Siobhan Murphy.

Over the last 20 years Jo has had the pleasure of sharing, teaching and learning with and from people, experiencing a multitude of teaching scenarios, genres and learning styles. For 12 years she taught ballet and contemporary at the VCA and has been a regular teacher of professional morning class at Lucy Guerin Inc and Chunky Move. In 2021 she was commissioned to develop and facilitate a teaching mentorship program of dance through Lucy Guerin Inc.

Jo is a certified Pilates and yoga teacher and has an ongoing interest in the interconnected energetic relationships of the body, mind and spirit.
