Bernadette Lewis

Bernadette Lewis is a dance artist living in Boorloo/Perth working across performance, choreography, improvisation, teaching and community engagement. A WAAPA and LINK Dance graduate, she is producer and lead mentor of Hidden Movements, an experimental performance platform for emerging dancers.

Memorable performances include Maxine Doyle’s Sunset and Didier Théron’s Shanghai Bolero. Choreographic highlights include Unearthly created and performed in collaboration with Natalie Allen for Perth Festival 2021, Black Swan State Theatre Company’s Oklahoma! and The Honeymoon Suite (winner Dance and Physical Theatre Award, FRINGE WORLD 2018).

With over 20 years of experience, her teaching practice  stems from an unshakeable belief that engaging in arts practice is a fundamental human right and need, and that arts training at any level or age can have profound impacts on individuals and communities.
