World-Building for Dance with CONJAH

STRUT and The Spot present a singular workshop from the creative force of CONJAH. Regardless of how you move, and where you practice, dancers from all backgrounds are invited to fortify the lineages of their personal practice and collaborate with freestyle partners in a melting pot of movement and music.

World-Building for Dance is a workshop facilitated by CONJAH (ooshcon and Jahra Wasasala) that introduces dancers to a ‘kit-bashing’ exploration of their story-telling. With a focus on freestyle partnering approaches, the workshop provides a platform for dancers to fortify the lineages of their personal practices while engaging in collaborative mapping exercises. CONJAH’s freestyle partnering creates spaces to reimagine your freestyle practice in collaboration with another dancer.
