Production Skills Workshop with Andrew Sutherland
In this workshop, Andrew will take participants through a series of prompts, writing tasks and discussion to facilitate the beginning of a creative process. We will explore ways of using generative writing to help open up and structure theme, symbol, and personal entry-points for the creation of new dance, theatre, or performance work. Following this, we will workshop methods of approaching dramaturgical processes from the material we have generated.
Please bring something to write with (pen and paper, laptop, tablet etc.).
In 2024, STRUT Dance and The Blue Room Theatre introduce a series of eight Production Skills workshops.
The workshops are practice-based sessions aimed to assist independent makers in all the things they are required to do in and around their productions but might not have had the training to do so.
Each workshop will focus on a different element of production including sound, finance, writing, cultural awareness, lighting, and dramaturgy.
