Ricky Arnold

Ricky Arnold has lived and worked in Western Australian cultural sector for over twenty five years. Originally trained as animator/film-maker and teacher in the UK, since taking up residence in Perth he has worked as an artist undertaking public and community art projects, curator of exhibitions, event organiser and fundraiser in the community not-for profit arts sector, as well as held roles at the City of Perth and for the Department of Culture and the Arts.

Twelve years in State Government roles saw Ricky lead the funding and development teams, working closely with key organisations in the sector to deliver funding for triennial and multiyear Government contracts. He also led funding panels for projects in the areas of Young People and the Arts, Aboriginal Arts, Contemporary Music, Designer Fashion and more broadly Arts Development.

He now works for DADAA Ltd as Director Arts Services, in charge of the programming and is currently focussing on capital work and new premise development projects. He is also a freelance consultant, focussed on cultural planning with Local Government and assisting arts organisations in strategic and business planning.
