The Perth Moves bursary program diversifies who has access to exceptional dance training. STRUT thanks its partners and Movers for their generous support.

- STRUT Dance will refund any Workshop Series passes should an application be successful

Perth Festival Connect + STRUT Bursary

Perth Festival is a not-for-profit multi-arts festival that brings world class performance, music, film, visual arts and literary events to Perth, Western Australia, every summer. The Festival’s Connect program provides pathways into the Festival through creative learning, community, and arts industry.
The bursary’s goal is to encourage connection and exchange between dance artists in regional WA to their metropolitan peers in WA.

Wellesley Studios Scholarship
For: Aotearoa/New Zealand-based artist*
Offer: Unlimited participation in Perth Moves workshops, bed in shared accommodation and return flight to Perth.
Value: $4300
Wellesley Studios Dance House has been established to support the ongoing development of the NZ dance industry. Part of its vision is to provide support for the professional independent dance sector and as such is offering a scholarship to Perth Moves 2025.
*It is possible for New Zealanders based in Australia to apply however priority will be given to those based in New Zealand.

GUTS Dance Bursary
For: Northern Territory-based artist
Offer: All Access pass to Perth Moves Workshop Series, bed in shared accommodation and a return flight to Perth
Value: $3500
The bursary’s goal is to to encourage connection and exchange between dance artists in the NT to dance artists in WA.
Mparntwe-based, GUTS Dance is a hub for high-calibre artistic engagement and the only platform for contemporary dance within a 1500km radius.

Dancehouse Bursary

Dancehouse’s role is threefold: to advance independent dance artists, to build dance audiences, and to develop the artform itself. With artists and audiences, we are co-creating a context for independent dance, in its diversity, to be accessed and appreciated. Together, we are nurturing dance-making and dance thinking; we are building dance literacy and dance’s legacy
Together, Dancehouse and STRUT have partnered to encourage connection and exchange between dance artists on the East and West Coasts.

Lucy Guerin Inc (LGI), established in Melbourne in 2002, is a leading Australian dance company renowned for its innovative works, which tour nationally and internationally. Beyond its original productions, LGI is committed to fostering the growth of independent dance artists through residencies, workshops, presentations, and mentoring opportunities. With a focus on challenging and extending the art of contemporary dance, the company embraces research, risk-taking, and choreographic exploration.
This bursary is funded by LGI to foster connection and exchange between dance artists from Victoria and Western Australia.
