Terri-ann White is Director, UWA Publishing and a writer. She is fiercely interested in dance and has always been fascinated by what happens when artists working in different forms come together to make work.
In 2017, I had the chance to see three works by Crystal Pite: the first, 'Betroffenheit', in Wendy Martin’s luminous Perth Festival, and in Rotterdam 'Parade' and 'The Statement' with NDT. I’m still reeling from the beauty and the anguish, and the exquisite blend of abstraction and narrative in each of these works. Hence my selection of STRUT’s Crystal Pite workshops to hopefully assist dancers to participate.
