Imanuel Dado

Imanuel Dado started his dance training as a breakdancer in Darwin, N.T. at the age of 15 and competed at interstate events and festivals. Outside of dancing Imanuel has also trained extensively in Martial Arts such as Muay Thai, Tae Kwon Do, Brazilian Jujitsu, Mixed Martial Arts and Wing Chun. Imanuel’s sporting achievements were in athletics and also rugby union representing N.T. at national meetings. His knowledge of movement extends outside of the fundamentals of contemporary and ballet dance that he uses extensively in his works.

Imanuel is part of the Darwin breakdancing group Style Impressions Krew and also D*city Rockers teaching in communities and schools.

He was interested in the dance course in Darwin High School, led by Sarah Calver who became his dance youth mentor and opened the doors for him to contemporary dance. He started doing work With TRACKS Dance Company in 2005-2008 as a youth leader. Imanuel then entered the Western Australian Academy of performing Arts Graduating with his bachelor in 2011.

Since graduating from WAAPA, Imanuel has since worked with Australian and international dance artists such as Laura Boynes, Matthew Morris, Rachael Ogle, Didier Theron, Jean Claude Gallota and Lewis Major.

Outside of TRACKS Dance Co, Imanuel has also worked with companies such as Shaun Parker and Co, Buzz Dance Theatre and Spare Parts Puppet Theatre.

Most recently Imanuel has been touring through Europe with Belgian based Director/Choreographer Ahilan Ratnamohan with ‘Drill’.

Imanuel is now a Perth based artist working extensively Between Australia, London and Belgium.
