April Vardy
April Vardy moved to Perth in 2013 to complete a Bachelor of Dance at WAAPA and an Honours degree as part of LINK Dance Company also at WAAPA, graduating in November 2016. Since then she has choreographed and performed as part of Fringe Festival for the past four years. Including being a co-creator of the site-specific work ‘In Cahoots’ which was awarded WA overall winner of the Dance & Physical Theatre category. As part of the State of Play program she choreographed ‘Sense of Wander’ in Jan 2021. She also performed in all 3 iterations of Brooke Leeder & Dancers show, ‘Structural Dependency’, including in Perth Festival at the State Theatre Centre of WA in Feb 2021. She has also been a Teaching Artist for West Australian Ballet for the past two years, this has involved regional teaching in Kalgoorlie, Narrogin and Wagin, as well as teaching the public classes.
