ANNETTE CARMICHAEL / PORONGURUP

Site-specific Dance for Ecological Change

Annette Carmichael is a WA community arts practitioner whose work celebrates the role of the artist as community leader. She is an innovator in the building of community inside choreographic process, thereby creating an authentic foundation for rigor and experimentation. STRUT launches a multi-year partnership with Annette with the first of two exciting program opportunities in the region.

Site-specific Dance for Ecological Change

Join Annette Carmichael and Sumer Addy in a live-in masterclass in Porongurup, four hours south of Perth.  Working within a recovering and revegetated landscape, you will be immersed in an experience of climate action and ultimately hope.  In the shadows of Koikyennuruff (Stirling Range) and Porongurup, we will examine site specific dance as a force for social and ecological change.  We will experience first-hand the audacious vision of the Gondwana Link, whose goal is to develop resilient ecosystems and abundant wildlife over a 1,000 km nature corridor stretching across the State.
