Yilin is a Perth based artist. She started her training at the Graduate College of Dance graduating in 2008. Upon graduation she was accepted into the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts graduating with a Bachelor of Arts (Dance) in 2011. In 2010 she participated in the exchange program studying at the Taipei National University of Arts in Taiwan for a semester .

Yilin has worked with artists Sue Peacock, Rachel Ogle, Alice Lee Holland, Rhiannon Newton, Brooke Leeder and Sydney based collective Flatline. She has performed with Buzz Dance Theatre in Look the Other Way, OCHRE Contemporary Dance Company in Dreamtide, the opening of Sculptures by the Sea and Articulating Landscapes and with Barking Gecko Theatre Company in Onefivezeroseven. She has also performed in Brooke Leeders’ The Mechnic and as understudy in Patrice Smiths’ Verge. Since graduating from WAAPA Yilin has created short works during short residencies at the Chapel Space and for In Short as part of STRUT’s Eyes Wide festival and Short Cuts 2013. Yilin was the winner of the 2013 Western Australian dance award for emerging artist.
