Tobiah Booth-Remmers is a freelance dance creator, performer, teacher and facilitator from Adelaide, Australia. Since graduating from the ‘Adelaide College of the Arts’ Bachelor of Dance Performance course in 2009 Tobiah has worked with a wide range of Australian and international artists.
Most notably he has worked with Garry Stewart (Australian Dance Theatre), Graeme Murphy (Sydney Dance Company), Branch Nebula, Brink Productions, Larissa McGowan, Lina Limosani, Gabrielle Nankivell, Paul Gazzola and Paulo Castro among many others. Tobiah has performed in major arts festivals including the Adelaide Fringe Festival (Aus), Adelaide Festival of the Arts (Aus), WOMAD (Aus), Dance Massive (Aus) and Dublin Dance Festival (Ire).
Along with his performance work Tobiah is also a prolific creator and teacher. He has created numerous short works with his Adelaide based performance collective; ‘The Human Arts Movement’, as well as 3 full length works. He has also curated his own mini-festival called ‘ALT’, which brought together a range of emerging and established artists in a warehouse performance environment. Tobiah has created two short works for the ‘Adelaide College of the Arts’ dance students as well working at the college as a lecturer in late 2017. He has sat as a peer assessor on ‘Arts SA’ funding panels and on audition panels for ‘ilYoung’, ‘Adelaide College of the Arts’ and the ‘ADT Youth Ensemble’.
Tobiah has also begun developing his international profile as a dance practitioner. He lived and worked in Europe during 2016/17, receiving residencies in Bulgaria, Brussels and Sweden, with resulting works being performed in Brussels, Bulgaria and Greece. Tobiah also taught workshops on his own creative and movement practice in Brussels, Bulgaria, Greece, Italy and Sweden.
