Kynan Hughes graduated from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts with an Advanced Diploma of Performing Arts (Dance) in 2000. Since then he has performed and toured around Australia and internationally with companies and choreographers including: Leigh Warren and Dancers, Dance North, Sydney Dance Company, Buzz Dance Theatre, Natalie Weir, Rafael Bonachela, Emanuel Gat and Kenneth Kvarnstrom. Since returning to Perth in 2012 Kynan has attained his Bachelor of Arts, performed in Chrissie Parrott’s Cicada, Luminous night and The Man, Sally Richardson’s The Ghost’s Child, mermaid X and Rites: dying to dance, James Berlyn’s Tenebrae et Lux for Perth Festival, Lucas Jervies’ Plain Jane, and Sue Peacock's Reflect. He is a choreographer and performer in Natalie Cursio's With a Bullet: The Album Project - Perth edition. Kynan has also choreographed works for WAAPA, LINK Dance Company, ACARTS in Adelaide and STEPS Youth Dance Company. Most recently, Kynan returned to Adelaide to work with Leigh Warren and Dancers and the State Opera South Australia for the world premiere of the Phillip Glass Trilogy in Einstein on the Beach.
