Alex Kay

Alex Kay is a Perth born and bred contemporary dancer who completed her tertiary dance training at WAAPA in 2018. She then went on to complete an Honours year with LINK Dance Company the following year. During her studies Alex performed in works by renowned choreographers, touring to France, Taiwan, China and Melbourne. As a Developing Artist for Co3 Contemporary Dance she performed in the 2020 Perth Festival, and since then performed in the 2021 Perth Festival for the commissioned work ‘ARCHIVES OF HUMANITY’ by Raewyn Hill as well as in the 2022 Perth Festival for ‘The Ninth Wave’ by THE FARM and Co3. Alex has also worked with artists such as Stephanie Lake, Daisy Sanders, Deborah May, Adelina Larsson and Scott Elstermann.

Growing up being a part of STEPS Youth Dance Company and Co3 Youth ensemble as a founding member, Alex has a passion for dance education and is a teaching artist for Co3 and the West Australian Ballet where she teaches in schools in both the Perth metro area and in regional WA towns. As well as a dance teacher and educator, Alex has her Yoga Teaching qualification completed with Beyondbeing and through the International Yoga Alliance. Alex is interested in how to cultivate flow state though mindfully moving and how this can directly affect dance performance.
